Music game maker Harmonix is surely cardinal of the biggest games industry winner stories in recent age, but the company's achievements seem even more impressive when you conceive just how dinky founders Alex Rigopulos and Eran Egozy had when they started. "We raised an initial around of capital from friends and family, meager by today's standards — $100,000 — just it lasted us a whole year because I was still living like a postgraduate," Egozy related to CNN.

Grad school – at MIT – is where Rigopulos and Egozy met. That's where the two "became interested in the estimate of victimization technology to allow non-musicians to express themselves musically," an idea which spawned plentitude of ideas but not much money after the two left school and founded Harmonix.

"We had zilch revenue," Rigopulos aforesaid. "We had been nerve-racking for 4 years to make something crop. We were out of ideas. Those first four years had been a burial ground of misstarts and product concepts that never successful it anyplace."

At that point Harmonix switched its focus from medicine tech development to producing games, whereupon they really started fashioning both money. And then came the big breakthrough: Guitar Cuban sandwich. "We did it because the concept was just then compelling," Ergozy said. "It was the game we had always treasured to urinate."

And so came MTV, and Rock group, and here we are, less than a week away from The Beatles: Rock Band.

"One thing we're lordly of: If you look dorsum to 1995 and read the mission command of our first business plan, it's just the same as information technology was today, which is to enable everyone the experience the delight of fashioning music," Ergozy same. "That's what we've always desirable to do, and IT's been a really tough roadworthy to get there. A long and winding road…"
